Objective:



This Armed Response Training program is designed to provide training to personnel on the appropriate methods of handling a situation that requires the use of a firearm. The goal of this program is to ensure that participants are properly equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to safely respond to an armed incident.



Course Description:



This course will focus on topics such as weapon safety, use of force principles, laws pertaining to firearms and their usage, tactics for responding to threats involving firearms, weapons familiarity, shooting accuracy, range safety rules and procedures. Additionally, the course will cover post-incident debriefing and discussion regarding relevant ethical considerations when dealing with situations involving firearms.



Participants:



This training program is open to any individuals working in law enforcement or private security who wish to become more proficient with their weapons in order to effectively protect themselves and others during high-risk incidents.

Location:

This training will take place at our facility in Kwa-Mashu which is equipped with the necessary equipment for successful firearms training sessions.

Class Schedule:

The class schedule consists of two weeks of intense instruction on the topics mentioned above and one additional week of field training and application exercises. Class times are Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch break each day. During field exercises we will also practice realistic scenarios simulating high risk situations which may involve multiple attackers or even hostages/hostage taking scenarios.

Cost:

The cost of the training course is R500 per participant. Payment can be made upon registration by cash or debit card at our office location in Kwa-Mashu.

Fire Arms Competency Training in Kwa-Mashu

Objective:

The goal of this Fire Arms Competency Training program is to teach Kwa-Mashu residents how to properly and safely handle and use firearms.



Description:



This training program will focus on the following topics: gun safety, proper shooting technique, loading and unloading procedures, target practice drills, maintenance and storage of firearms, legal considerations for using a firearm in South Africa, as well as other related topics. The course will include both classroom lectures as well as practical hands-on experience with firearms.



Prerequisites:



All participants must be at least 18 years old. Participants must have no prior criminal history involving weapons or firearms. All participants must complete a background check prior to the start of the training course.



Course Materials:



All participants will receive a training packet including copies of lecture slides, safety information brochures, written test forms, and handouts detailing shooting technique and rules of firearm use. All materials should be studied thoroughly before participating in any shooting drills. Additionally, all participants must bring their own firearms to the training course (rental firearms can be made available upon request).

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course all participants will receive a certificate attesting to their completion of the course and certifying that they have obtained the knowledge and skills necessary to operate firearms safely.

1. Introduction:

This course will provide the student with an introduction to the role and responsibilities of a Control Room Operator. The students will gain knowledge and experience of operating in a control room environment, understanding alarm systems and other monitoring systems that are associated with such rooms.



2. Course Content:

The content for this course includes an overview of control room operations, terminology and technology used, emergency procedures, safety protocols, communication procedures and documentation processes. In addition to this the course also covers specific monitoring systems such as CCTV, access control systems, audio/visual systems and security networks.



3. Practical Exercises:

The practical exercises of this course focus on giving the students hands-on experience working in a real-life control room environment. This includes operating alarms and monitoring systems, carrying out daily maintenance checks on all equipment, familiarizing themselves with emergency response plans and drills and how to use communication protocols correctly when engaging with external personnel.



4. Certification:

On completion of this course the students will be awarded certification as Control Room Operators in Kwa-Mashu in accordance with national regulations on the safe operation of control rooms within public spaces.

1. All participants must be at least 18 years of age and possess valid South African identity documents.



2. Participants must complete a medical check-up before attending the training.



3. The training will take place in an indoor shooting range in Kwa-Mashu that is certified for Fire Arms Training by the South African Police Services (SAPS).



4. A maximum of 8 people per session are allowed in the range at any one time and participants will be required to wear protective eye gear throughout the duration of their training session.



5. Instructors are certified Fire Arms Training experts and have extensive knowledge in fire arm safety and maintenance procedures.



6. Before beginning their training, each participant must pass a test that demonstrates their understanding of all relevant laws pertaining to gun ownership and use in South Africa.



7. Training sessions last 4 hours and consist of both theory and practical lessons, focusing on topics such as safe handling, maintenance, target accuracy, defensive tactics and much more!



8. After successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate confirming their successful completion of the Fire Arms Training course as well as additional material they may find useful while practicing on their own or taking further courses down the line.
